Flushing’s Chinese Community
Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 6PM
($20 per person, advanced registration is required)
This immigrant destination and commercial center has come to rival its Manhattan antecedent. Taiwanese rather than Cantonese at its core, Flushing plays a host to a variety of overseas Chinese groups. Rezoning and greater land availability support unusual real estate developments including office buildings, hotels, residential condos, specialty shops, cultural institutions, and malls. Dine in more than 100 Asian restaurants.
Led by Queensborough Historian Jack Eichenbaum, the tour will meet in the entry lobby of Skyview Mall (40-24 College Point Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11354) near the elevators on the right side and conclude in downtown Flushing with many dining possibilities, bus connections, #7 train, and LIRR.
